One Week Crate Training

Goal: Our Crate Training Program was developed for clients that would like for us to keep their puppy for one extra week (go home at 9 weeks of age), vaccinate him/her, crate train & teach them his/her name, as well as developing a nice starter potty training routine for during the day, and night. Having the puppy comfortable with the safety of its crate, started outside schedule for potty,

There will be no other training included in this program, as far as commands.

This makes for a happier transition to your home and the family can avoid the first few loud and messy days of puppy training and potty training.

Two Week Introductory Program

The goal of the two-week program: is to transition your puppy to a new location and life away from their littermates, to become familiar with a family atmosphere, and to be imprinted and started with all aspects of training.

This program is perfect for clients who would like an objective evaluation of their puppy.

It's ideal for those who want a leg up on training but would like to do most of the training themselves.

This program is best suited for those who do not want or cannot handle (due to busy life), those first very messy and noisy days of crate training, and polite manners.

What's Going On These two weeks?

  • Your puppy will be vetted and receive age-appropriate vaccinations & deworm as they apply to your puppy's health schedule

  • Your puppy will be introduced to the four keywords of "good", "nope", "okay" and "leave it" to aid in communication.

  • Problems such as jumping up, mouthing (puppy nipping), chewing, etc.

  • Your puppy will be familiar with taking and following treats and wearing a collar and leash. Many new puppy owners do realize how important this is in the training process, and that this does not come naturally to a puppy. It must be taught before the puppy can progress in his/her training.

  • Your puppy will be introduced to the training, obedience commands of knowing his name, "sit", "leave it", & "come".

  • They are introduced to walking on a lead.

  • They are transitioning from their litter to living with family, and focusing  on humans.

  • Your puppy will be introduced to basic grooming and maintenance such as brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming, and teeth brushing.

  • Your puppy will receive socialization throughout the day with children and other household pets.

Four Week Fundamentals

During the four week fundamentals;  the puppy will receive all of the benefits of the two-week program, but more consistency.

We teach the basics in the first 2 weeks, then we do a lot of reinforcement for the next 2 weeks. Consistency is the KEY to this program. This program is designed for the novice puppy owner. It's ideal for those that want a more comprehensive program that will render a better-trained family member. Due to the extended length of the program, I will be able to work with the puppy more in-depth, with more hours to build stability and communication on your expectations.

I will have more time to get to know your puppy-fine-tuning the skills that were introduced in the first two weeks, as they grow.

  • Your puppy will be on a schedule of eating, drinking, and going potty to make house training much easier. You will receive a copy of this schedule.

  • Your puppy will be crate trained, meaning in most cases your puppy can hold potty and remain quiet overnight and for a few hours during the day.

  • Your puppy will be familiar with the taking and following of treats and wear a collar and leash.  Many new puppy owners do not realize how important this is in the training process, and that this does not come naturally to a puppy.

  • More practice to maintain consistent results with the obedience commands on leash, "attention" (his/her name), "sit",  "leave it", "down", and "come",  "place", and "heel".

  • Your puppy will know the four feedback words of "good", "nope", "okay" and "leave it" to aid in communication.

  • Your puppy will be introduced to weekly basic grooming and maintenance such as brushing, ear cleaning, nail trimming & teeth brushing.

  • Your puppy will receive socialization throughout the day with children and other household pets.

  • Puppies in the 4-week program will have the benefit of additional socialization, which means a more well-rounded puppy. Upon request, puppies in this group can also be introduced to the bell as a means for signaling the need to go outside to potty.

    • Your puppy will have one public training session, in a high populated area. (We do  not  allow s trangers to pet.)
